 Advocates Public Policy Institute are recommitting to enhancing our commun
 ity members’ health\, mental health\, and wellness to by addressing the ha
 rms posed by opioids and other drugs to individuals\, families\, and commu
 nities.\n\nTo help us understand how various forms of opioids and other de
 adly substances find their way into our community and what we can do about
  it\, on November 2\, 2023\, we will host a special night with investigati
 ve reporter Ben Westhoff\, author of<i>Fentanyl\, Inc.: How Rogue Chemists
  Created the Deadliest Wave of the Opioid Epidemic.</i>\n\nIn his book\, W
 esthoff\, the first journalist to infiltrate a fentanyl lab in China\, exp
 lores the rise of fentanyl along with other synthetic drugs that are repla
 cing traditional street drugs and operate in a legal gray area. He also co
 vers how global capitalism and new technologies underpin the international
  drug trade.\n\nGuests will gather at the Grace Center in Downtown Milwauk
 ee\, featuring:\n+ Presentations by local leaders and Ben Westhoff\n+ Sile
 nt auction\n+ Fentanyl\, Inc. book signing with Westhoff\n+ Appetizers and
  desserts\n+ Nonalcoholic 'mocktails' specially developed for our guests\n
 + Free Narcan and training\n\nOur event sponsors\, PPI Members\, and speci
 al guests will be able to meet Westhoff in an intimate gathering before th
