2023 Stipends

Want to launch a special project but don't have the extra funds to do so? RISE Drug Free MKE (formerly the Milwaukee County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition) invites 501c3 tax exempt organizations based in Milwaukee County or government entities operating within Milwaukee County to apply for stipends to enhance their substance (mis)use and prevention activities. Eight stipends up to $2,500 will be granted quarterly on a variety of specific themes determined by RISE Drug Free MKE members. Bookmark this page and apply each quarter for a substance (mis)use "mini-grant."

Black History Month

Provide the opportunity to honor and support the African American medical practitioners, educators, religious leaders, and prominent social figures are among numerous men and women within the African American community who dedicate themselves to preventing and treating substance use/misuse. This year’s theme is Black Mental Health and/or reducing stigma with a focus on family and student-centered events. Deadline to apply is January 30, 2023. Download the application here.

Valentine’s Programming

On this day information should be shared about self-love activities practices to help better ones mental health, risk protective factors, and ways parents, educators, college aged adults, and youth can work together to recognize, self-love and love for others. This year’s theme is “Loving yourself and others.” Deadline to apply is January 30, 2023. Download the application here.

Light & Unite Red Week

Light & Unite Red Week is a week-long awareness campaign whose purpose is to put a spotlight on the dangers of substance (mis)use and unite the community to engage in prevention activities, encourage treatment, and support recovery. The Light and Unite Red campaign will coincide with National Drug and Alcohol Facts week, March 20-26, 2023. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2023. Download the application here.

New Year Resolution

Negative thoughts feed negative habits- this year we want to encourage Milwaukee to practice spinning the negative into something positive, as a way to cope with the stressful things they face in the New Year. “Spin the Negative.” Deadline to apply is March 6, 2023. Download the application here.
