Tahira Malik is the Founder and COO of Samad’s House, a Milwaukee-based sober living home and behavioral health clinic dedicated to supporting women—especially mothers—on their journey to recovery. After her own 15-year battle with opioid addiction, which began after a car accident and prescribed pain medication, Tahira transformed her lived experience into a mission of service.
Through Samad’s House, she has created a safe and supportive environment where women can rebuild their lives, reunite with their children, and achieve long-term stability. Her work goes beyond treatment; it fosters empowerment, independence, and healing for entire families and communities.
Tahira also serves as Vice-Chair of the City of Milwaukee Board of Health, where she brings the invaluable perspective of lived experience to public health leadership. Her advocacy centers on equity in healthcare, breaking down stigma, and expanding resources for women and families impacted by substance use disorder.
Recognized for her compassion and resilience, Tahira often reminds others that “no storm lasts forever” and that recovery is always possible. Her journey from addiction to leadership has inspired countless women to pursue healing, proving that with hope, support, and opportunity, lives can be transformed.
