Cassandra Torres is a Harm Reduction Community Outreach Specialist with the City of Milwaukee Health Department, with a professional background including work in mental health and substance use recovery services, community equity, and public health. Her career spans direct service, assessment, program coordination, and systems-level policy. Cassandra is bilingual in Spanish and has fostered initiatives to ensure linguistically appropriate services across multiple programs.
In 2021, she represented the Department of Health & Human Services as a member of the 11 person team that developed Milwaukee County’s first-ever Racial Equity Budget Tool. Some personal hobbies she likes is fashion, nails, and make up. If she didn’t work in this field, she would be an artist. She also loves animals and has two pet dogs. Her favorite movie is Venom. Her favorite thing to do to unwind after a busy day is to eat good food. A quote that motivates her is “Stay ready, don’t get ready”.
